Overview

Mietbringsel rents furniture and décor for weddings and celebrations out of Cologne — Crossback and Louis chairs, banquet tables, vintage audio guestbooks, oversized floral sets. The promise is in the tagline: “Mietbringsel — stilvoll feiern.” The site had to look as considered as the pieces themselves while quietly solving a genuinely awkward commerce problem.

The Challenge

Rental is not retail. Price depends on dates, availability has to be checked against a real calendar, and delivery, setup and collection are all negotiable. A normal checkout would be wrong — but so would a bare contact form, because customers still need to browse a catalog, see prices, and build a list before they can ask about anything.

Approach

The resolution was to keep the ecommerce mechanics and change their destination. Customers browse the Sortiment, see honest per-period pricing on every item, and add pieces to a cart exactly as they would anywhere else — but the cart resolves into an Anfrage, a no-obligation request, instead of a payment. Familiar behaviour, correct outcome.

Because that flow is unusual, the process is spelled out on the homepage in three plain steps: build your selection, send the request with the details of your celebration, then confirm the booking once the quote and contract arrive. Removing the uncertainty about what happens after “send” is what makes people willing to send.

The visual direction stays soft and warm — cream grounds, a deep brown accent, a serif voice, and real photography of set tables under open sky. Trust is carried by a gallery of past celebrations and by client testimonials from brides, planners and corporate clients, placed where hesitation usually sits.

Build

Built in WordPress on WooCommerce with Elementor, so the team can add inventory, adjust rental pricing and refresh the gallery themselves as stock changes through the season. The standard cart is repurposed into a request basket, with the enquiry form collecting event date, location and delivery preference so availability can be checked in a single pass.

Outcome

A rental storefront that feels as polished as the events it furnishes, with a booking path that matches how the business actually works — browse freely, request easily, confirm with confidence.
